Trey Anthony

Television Producer  Writer  Motivational Speaker  Comedian

COCA is pleased to announce Trey Anthony is this years National Conference Opening Keynote Speaker. She will be speaking after lunch on Tuesday, June 9, in the Mayfield Dinner Theater at the DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton Hotel.

Trey Anthony is known for the ground-breaking and award-winning television and theatrical production ‘da Kink in My Hair. She is the first Black Canadian woman to write and produce a television show on a major prime time Canadian network.

Trey is a former television producer for the Women’s Television Network (now W) and a writer for the Comedy Network and CTV. She was also the executive producer of the Urban Women’s Comedy Festival, dat girl, sho is funny! She has recently been named a Bell Media Fellow, which recognizes emerging television producers and their contribution to Canadian media.

Trey is a much sought after speaker and delivers seventy to ninety keynote speeches a year. She is a writer for the Huffington Post and contributing writer for the Toronto Star. Trey was selected to give an address at TEDX Toronto 2010. She delivered a powerful keynote speech to 2000 students at the 2014 Student Leadership Conference.

A mentor and role model; Trey is regularly invited to schools to inspire and empower youth. She volunteers with the Black Queer Youth Group, and speaks to students about sexuality, body image and other issues facing adolescents.

Trey is represented by the National Speakers Bureau.
